The outermost layer-the part that comes into contact with the baby's skin-is typically made of soft non-woven fabric, which must be gentle on the skin and breathable. This layer allows urine to pass quickly into the absorbent core, thereby reducing the time moisture remains on the skin's surface. Additionally, the soft material minimizes friction caused by the baby's movements, ensuring a comfortable fit whether the baby is crawling, sleeping, or otherwise active.
The absorbent core in the middle is the key component for fluid absorption; its primary ingredients are fluff pulp and superabsorbent polymer (SAP). Fluff pulp offers excellent absorption and fluid distribution capabilities, helping urine spread rapidly. Meanwhile, SAP can absorb large quantities of liquid and lock it inside, minimizing back-flow and keeping the diaper relatively dry during use. The performance of these materials directly determines the diaper's absorption speed and capacity.
In addition to absorbent materials, diapers feature auxiliary structures such as a leak-proof backsheet, an elastic waistband, and leak guards. The leak-proof backsheet is usually made of breathable, waterproof material that prevents leakage while allowing air circulation. The elastic waistband and leg gathers adjust to the baby's movements, ensuring a snug fit and reducing the risk of side leakage. Through the strategic combination of these materials, baby diapers achieve an optimal balance of absorption, protection, and comfort, safeguarding the baby during daily use.
